Text to Speech The K-NFB Classic Reader is a text-to-speech reader that works by taking a picture. A senior can then listen to the device as it repeats the text of what is in the picture. This is much easier to use than devices that require pages to be scanned. The reader is also small, compact, light and easy to manage. This is a reader that a senior can easily take with them on outings. Use it for:
- Labels
- Newspapers
- Directions
- Addresses
- Ingredients, and
- Many other useful applications
The device also allows users to store what is scanned for later retrieval. Their does seem to be learning curve associated with this device. Some of the functions seem a little on the technical side for a lot of seniors with low vision, but I think the benefits of the device outweigh the limitations.
